Since their formation in 2015, CADAVRE DE SCHNAPS have oscillated between rugged DIY indie and art rock-inspired experimentation. For the release of the new EP „Unlearning By Doing“, the single „Balloon (Modern Version)“ is available in advance, which clearly sets a new direction: An ingratiating guitar phrase and a pulsating synthesizer flow seamlessly into the ear, the reduced arrangement gives the voice room to unfold - here pop is celebrated. At least a variety of pop, because in terms of song structure, sound design and lyrics, the band's immanent characteristics continue to shine through clearly. According to bandleader Jeong-Il Sin, „Balloon (Modern Version)“ is „their most accessible song. With its more compact and clear form, it also already points well to what the EP as a whole is all about.“
